
Pip Wilson is predominantly a greeting card illustrator, but he also loves to dabble in fine art whenever he gets the chance.
Pip has a long history in the greeting card industry. Gaining his first post out of Art College with Sharpe's Classic Cards as a junior artist. After completing his apprenticeship there, he moved to Oxford to work for Kingsley Cards for several years.
Returning to his home county he embarked on a successful freelance career for many years supplying illustrations to a host of greeting card companies up and down the country. Initially freelancing, he solely worked for Card Factory as one of the founding members of the studio team there, later joining the company in full-time employment, where he remained with the company for a number of years, up until recently when he left to regained his freelance status, enabling him to focus more on his fine art but still keeping a hand on his greeting card illustration.
He covers a wide variety of styles and subjects using textiles, materials and textures alongside traditionally styled illustration, digitally emulating oils, pastel, watercolour pen and pencil.
Pip is located in the rural outskirts of Leeds where he enjoys walking along the canals and river banks which surround the village where he lives, an ideal location for gathering photographic reference for his paintings. Being centrally located in Yorkshire he also likes to visit the coast and North York Moors for a more dramatic change of scenery, an irresistible draw for an artist.
