RACHEL THOMAS PELLMAN
Rachel's of Greenfield
Rachel Thomas Pellman and her husband Kenny own and operate Rachel's of
Greenfield. Rachel designs and produces kits for small appliqué and pieced wall quilts. Most of her designs are available as complete kits, including all the fabrics for the top, back, binding, embellishments,
precise patterns and complete instructions. With everything in hand, quiltmakers from novice to expert can have the satisfaction of completing a project.
Rachel has spent many hours in Amish homes learning the stories of Amish
women, the histories of their quilts, and current trends in Amish quiltmaking. She has authored and co-authored numerous books including Amish Wall Quilts, The World of Amish Quilts, A Treasury of Amish Quilts
and Tips for Quilters. She teaches and lectures at local guilds and has participated in educational programs at Sotheby's and American Folk Art Museum in New York City.
Rachel grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the youngest in a
family of ten children. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a degree in Home Economics education. She and Kenny live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with their two sons.
