ALEX ANDERSON

In the 25 years that Alex Anderson has been quilting, she has developed her skills and reputation to become the best known and best loved quilter in the world. She has her own television show, Simply Quilts on HGTV and has written quilt books too numerous to count. She is the spokesperson for Bernina USA, she lectures and teaches classes, designs fabrics and patterns for P&B Textiles and she still finds time to make beautiful quilts.

Alex made her first quilt in 1978 as part of her art degree from San Francisco State University. Her initial emphasis on fiber and graphic design gave her a deep respect and admiration for Amish quilts. She has focused on understanding fabric relationships and surface design. She intends to keep quilting for as long as she can hold a needle.
